This 32x28.5 acrylic rug is handcrafted and inspired by Aphrodite the Greek goddess. In Greek mythology, roses became associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of love, beauty, and passion. Ancient poets wrote about roses blooming in her presence and becoming symbols of attraction and romance. And long before serpents became symbols of evil, they represented wisdom, transformation, and rebirth. Ancient people watched snakes shed their skin and saw a creature capable of renewing itself. 

Inspiration 

The Rose teaches us beauty and the serpent teaches us change. One blooms while the other sheds its skin. Together they symbolize that nothing beautiful remains the same forever.

The serpent remains next to the rose, guarding it from the illusion that beauty can last without transformation.

The rose reminds us to love what is beautiful. The serpent reminds us to accept what must change. Together, they tell the story of Aphrodite's greatest lesson: that love is not meant to keep us the same.
