Long before Greece, long before the bible was written, long before empires ruled, there stood a city like no other, Uruk. Its walls towered over lands, its temples stretched toward the heavens, and its people believed that the gods walked close to them. Over this city ruled a king and not just any king; this was a man said to be two-thirds god and one-third human, his name was Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh is powerful beyond measure; standing 18 feet tall, no man can match his strength. He builds the massive walls of Uruk himself, commands armies, and expands civilization. But power changed Gilgamesh, the same king who protects his people, also crushes them under his will. The people cry at night, the men are exhausted by his demands, families fear him, and no one can oppose him.

Quinametzin existed during the previous Suns or Sun, not the current one. Depending on the tradition or who you ask, they are mostly associated with either the first or the second sun. Now, let me explain, the Nahua cosmology is a different concept than most would think about cosmology today. They believe our world is going through cycles and the sun is just a star in the sky, but the framework for our system, representing a complete cosmic age, or the way reality works.

 All of the creatures that I may mention in these myths are not necessarily dragons as we would think of them today. Most of them will share the same lineage, so I will save time on speaking about the lineage after the first few. Just know that they are most likely the offspring of Gaia or Typhon and Echidna (uh-kid-na).
